It's a beautiful old catholic school with the neatest nooks and crannies to study in! I love to go to school early, before the sun comes up, and read as the sun rises.
My schooling is going well...but it's really hard for me, maybe harder than for most, since it's not really "my personality" to sit down and focus for long periods of time, and now I really have to focus hard to remember all these details....ex: What class of antibiotic do we want to prescribe for a certain infection (how much, by what route, how often, for how long, etc), and what medication would we change to if the patient has a complicating condition like high blood pressure or an allergy? -or- what are the possible causes of the patient's rash and what tests can we do to narrow it down? This medical stuff is a stretch for me...BUT I LOVE IT.
Everything is so interesting. I keep saying "Wow!" out loud in class because so many things make sense now that I learn more about the body and medicine...cool things that I always wondered about are being covered in class and I am enthralled by the complexity of our bodies - and in awe of the power of Heavenly Father to make something so wonderful as us!
I am pushing myself by getting up early, studying late, and using every spare minute (even lunch) for homework. I can't wait until it is all over though, and I can practice for real. Theory and simulation gets dry after a while.
SO...in March I have a year of rotations and I am looking forward to that!
